City's youngsters put on a disappointing show, on 6th October, away at West Bromwich Albion, loosing by a 2 goal deficit.

Youth team coach Adrian Pennock takes the official website through the game.

"We lost 2-0 and really if it wasn't for Tom Harrison it could have been more, he put in a great performance. He tipped two great saves onto the cross-bar in the second half and his all round game was very good. Tom is a first year and has Danzelle and Steve in front of him as they are second years- he came in and he didn't disgrace himself.

"We've got three goal-keepers this year and I just rotate them round to be as fair as I can with them.

"I was disappointed after the game, especially after the great performance we put in last week against Liverpool.

"West Brom were more composed than us on the ball; and we gave the ball away too easily. It started really with people not tracking runners, I believe that you defend from the front; it's not just the back four who defend but the whole team.

"Their first goal went in at the 30 minute mark and their second after 65. The second goal was one ball straight through the middle of our defence and the guy went on and scored. It was a good finish but on our side it was a very poor goal to concede.

"We had a chance in the second half when we were 2-0 down. It was a shot from Jimmy Philips in the 80th minute; he was one on one with the keeper and the keeper made a very good save.

"I want to forget about it and move on, we're at home to Manchester United on Saturday, so I'm looking forward to that," added Pennock.
