The Stoke City Academy operates from July to May each year, providing an average of at least 3 hours coaching per week for players aged U9 - U11; at least 5 hours coaching per week for players aged U12 - U16; and at least 15 hours coaching per week for apprentices aged U17 & U18.

Indoor coaching takes place at the Academy Dome, Dennis Viollet Avenue, Trentham Lakes, Stoke-on-Trent. ST4 4TN. (Directions: Turn off the A50, signposted Trentham Lakes, Britannia Stadium, along Stanley Matthews Way, passing the Britannia Stadium on your right, turn left at roundabout into Dennis Viollet Avenue, passing the Powerleague Soccer site on your right.Park on road alongside the Dome.)

The impressive Academy Dome was built and opened in 2002, and incorporated the latest artificial pitch technology and lighting.It is two-thirds the size of a regular football pitch, which means our young players can train in comfort and safety all-year round.

The FA Premier League's Academy Games Programme for players aged U9 - U16 operates organised development games, exclusively against other Academies, from September to May each year on a non-competitive unpublicised basis, usually providing 28 games per season for each age-group.

The FA Premier Academy League for U18 players operates from August to May on an exclusive, competitive, publicised basis, usually providing 28 games per season. The U18 team also enters the FA Youth Cup knock-out competition.Most of these games usually take place at the Michelin Sports Ground, although occasionally other approved venues are used.

The facilities comply with the FA's Academy criteria with regard to the requirements relating to the young players' coaching, training, medical and educational needs.

The Academy has sole access to dressing rooms, physiotherapists' room, administration offices, kit rooms, grass pitches, astroturf pitches, indoor sports hall and multi-gym facilities in accordance with the FA's Academy criteria.
