This week's supporter in the hotseat is Steve Day - currently 50 and a half (mentally 16) residing in Stafford.

How long supporting City?

38 years! ... where did that go?

Why did you support the club?

Its a family thing. My grandfather CYCLED from Cheadle to the Vic with my Dad on the crossbar to go to a game - hearing stories like that which other team could I support?

First Match

Leeds at home 8th March 1969 ... we lost 5 - 1 ... how times change!

Favourite Memory

23rd Feb 1974, Stoke 3 - 2 Leeds to end Leeds' run of 29 unbeaten games. They needed this game to set an all time record for being undefeated. Nonetheless, Jimmy Greenhoff had predicted that we would beat them, but two down in 17 mins you just wouldn't have bet on it. It was 2 - 2 at half time and when Denis Smith nodded us in front you could have heard the roar in Belgium! Seeing the tears rolling down Billy Bremner's face at the end was sheer joy! Even better was Greenhoff's comment after the game - "Told you so, come back next month and I'll give the name of the Grand National einner!!" - Magic.

Best Manager

No contest, it has to be Tony Waddington. Anyone who could have the guile and wit to take the club from obscurity to the brink of winning the First Division title in 1975 deserves a Knighthood. If ever there was a person deserving of a statue at the Brit other than Sir Stan it is him.

What would make you miss a game?

Family commitments or illness. Having said that there have been times when I have felt more ill coming away from a game.

Who do you go to games with?

My Dad until recently and now more frequently with my 14 year old son. I have a personal ambition to get him to see Stoke in as many grounds in the country as we can before 18 / university. We're up to 30ish at the moment.

How many games a season?

All home games, and four or five away games at grounds we haven't been to - see the comment above.

Matchday Routine

Not really - although I like to find a specific spot in the South Car Park to get a quick exit ... not that it always works!

Favourite Current Player

Steve Simonsen. I like intelligent players who are constantly thinking about how they can improve their performances. He puts his heart and soul into the job and having more than a bit of skill helps ... penalty saves included!

One club to beat next season

Chelsea at Wembley ... we've done it once before why can't we do it again??

All Time XI

Banks
Hoefkens
Smith
Shtaniuk
Pejic
Robertson
Hudson
Greenhoff
Hoekstra
Stein
Dobing

Controversial ... but it's based on players I actually have seen - unfortunately I never saw Sir Stan.
