After stints with Newcastle United and Arsenal, Eastham joined City in 1966.

He was a gifted inside-forward with remarkable accuracy of passing, who had scored and provided numerous goals for his previous two clubs, and did not fail to deliver at City.  In 1972 he scored the winner in the League Cup Final against Chelsea, where, at 35 years and 161 days old, he became the oldest player ever to receive a winners' medal.

Eastham eventually went on to become player-manager, assistant player-manager and finally manager at The Victoria Ground.  However, he retained this position of manager for only 10 months.
