Jimmy Greenhoff
Inside forward Greenhoff was a firm favourite with City fans due to his outstanding talent when aiming for goal and when not.
You might say he was certainly worthy of being City's first £100,000 signing because of his ability to use either of his feet or his head in scoring. He scored some fantastic goals, many of which were superb volleys.
Greenhoff enjoyed further success in his career after leaving City for Manchester United, where he was accredited with the winning goal for United in the 1977 FA Cup Final under some controversy - Macari's shot rebounded off him! He also acheived the accolade of 'Goal of the Season' by ITV for his strike for City against Birmingham in December 1974.
Appearances for the Potters: 338. 97 goals.
