City picked up a well earned point at the Walkers Stadium with a 1-1 draw.
Ricardo Fuller spectacularly fired the Potters ahead after 15 minutes before substitute Matty Fryatt secured a share of the spoils with a second half equaliser.
Manager Tony Pulis made two changes to the team with Jon Parkin and Andy Wilkinson replacing the injured duo of Mamady Sidibe and Clint Hill.
Tha match began and City started brightly with Ryan Shawcross drilling in a volley which seemed destined for the bottom corner, however an outstretched defender managed to divert the ball away from goal.
From the resulting corner, a very clever one two between Liam Lawrence and Wright almost led to the opening goal of the game after just two minutes, but Richard Cresswell's clever back heel drifted inches wide of the post.
The hosts managed their first assault on the City goal after seven minutes, with Mark De Vries crossing for DJ Campbell, but Cresswell was on hand to head away the danger.
Former Birmingham striker Campbell then acrobatically tried his luck with an overhead kick, but it flew well wide.
City's good start to the game turned in to a dream start when Fuller spectacularly fired the Potters ahead after 15 minutes.
He expertly controlled the ball on the edge of the Foxes 18-yard box and curled a screamer around one of the defenders in to the far corner.
The powerful Jamaican was on fire and just minutes later he released Cresswell down the left wing, before he cut in and launched a shot which deflected just over the bar.
Rory Delap was forced off after 25 minutes with a hamstring pull, and John Eustace was brought on as his replacement.
The Potters continued to press forward, with Fuller again instrumental as Lawrence headed straight at Martin Fulop following good work from Parkin.
City number one Simonsen had to be alert to parry McAuley's header over the ball just after the half hour.
Leicester boss Megson made two changes for the second half, bringing on Fryatt and Hume, and it proved to be an immediate success.
Midweek scoring hero Fryatt, neatly controlled the ball before swivelling and firing home beyond the outstretched Simonsen just 80 seconds after the restart.
Fellow substitute Hume was next to try his luck from range, but his volley dipped well over the cross bar from 20-yards.
City responded to some early pressure with a chance of their own in the 54th minute, Fuller latched on to Parkin's flick on but shot straight at the keeper from 8-yards.
Former Charlton man Radostin Kishishev then tested the hands of Simonsen, before Shawcross hacked the ball away.
Both sides created half chances as the game drew to a close with Cresswell and Hume firing close from long range.
In the final minute City were denied what appeared to be a cast iron penalty after Lawrence was tripped after dribbling past a defender, and despite the players protests the referee waved play on.
The final chance of the game saw Lawrence fire a free kick high above the bar.
