Carling Cup

The Potters will make the relatively short journey to Spotland in the first round of the Carling Cup to take on League Two side Rochdale.

Tony Pulis will be looking to improve on a disappointing recent history in the cup, after three first round defeats on the bounce.

City's last venture into the second round came during the 2003/04 season when a late Marc Goodfellow strike secured a 2-1 win co-incidentally against Rochdale.
