It's The Ambition - Cresswell
City's ambition was the major factor which persuaded new signing Richard Cresswell to join the Potters ahead of a host of other Championship clubs.
The former Preston North End hit-man has penned a three year deal after joining from League One side Leeds United.
Despite speculation linking Hull, Sheffield Wednesday and former club Preston North End with a move for the player, Richard opted for a move to the Britannia Stadium, and reveals it was an easy decision to make.
Speaking for the first time exclusively to the official site he says: "The ambition here really made me want to join.
"It is a fantastic club with a lot of very good players, and I believe this is a club which is going somewhere.
"A lot of things have been said about what happened with Hull, but it was nothing to do with what has been said.
"My decision to come here was purely a footballing decision and I wanted to be part of the future here.
"There is a better chance of getting promoted here and that's what I want."
Boss Tony Pulis also played a huge part in luring the highly rated striker to the Potteries.
Saying: "The gaffer played a major role, he spoke to me a lot and made me feel really wanted.
"He has a great track record as a coach, and I am delighted to link up with him.
"He sold the club to me, and he told me what he wants to do here, and that was enough for me," he adds.
