On loan Manchester United defender Ryan Shawcross is aiming to carry on his goal-scoring run against Charlton Athletic.

The 19-year old protégé has bagged two goals in his first two games, including the winner at Cardiff last weekend.

And speaking to the new matchday magazine, available tomorrow, he says he is hoping his run doesn't end against the Addicks, saying: "I hope I can get another against Charlton, that would be good.

"I have knocked on the gaffers door and told him I think I should be up front, but he says I'm a better defender.

"On a serious note though, we just need to make sure we pick up three points, we know we are capable of doing that, and if I get another goal that would be an added bonus."
