Pericard Imprisoned
Stoke City Football Club can confirm that Vincent Pericard has today been jailed for four months.
The 24-year old was found guilty of perverting the course of justice, after lying about a speeding offence whilst still playing for Plymouth.
The incident took place in March last year, where Vincent was caught traveling at 103mph.
City manager Tony Pulis has condemned his offence but asked fans to back the former Juventus star.
He says: "We stand behind Vincent, we can't condone what he has done but he is not a nasty or bad person.
"He has been very naïve and made a mistake, which we have all done at some point.
"Everyone associated with the football club is disappointed with what has happened, but we will all be standing right behind him.
"When he does come out we will make sure we help him adjust to life back outside and will do everything we can for him."
A representative of Vincent's from Beswick's Solicitors said: "He has made a mistake to which he has admitted to.
"He will accept his punishment, but is very much looking forward to resuming his career upon release."
Stoke City Football Club will be making no further comment at this time.
