We Were Unlucky - Demar
City debutant Demar Phillips believes the team should have picked up at least a point from Saturday evening's clash with Sheffield United.
The Jamaican winger made his debut for the Potters having come on as a substitute in the 78th minute, and admits City were unfortunate to not get anything from the game.
"It was disappointing because we should have got the three points," Demar admitted to Stoke City World.
"We were unlucky though because the opponents defended well and blocked a couple of shots from the goal.
"But we have to come again, we have to work on what we did wrong and come the next game put it right."
Phillips had been named on the substitute's bench for the games with Leicester City, Sheffield Wednesday, Crystal Palace and Scunthorpe United without being brought on, but this time he got the nod to take off his tracksuit from boss Tony Pulis.
"The gaffer just said I must enjoy myself and I got on there and played my best.
"As soon as I get a chance I will show the club and the fans what I can do.
"Every time I go out there I'll try and do my best."
The 24-year old, who arrived from Jamaican club Waterhouse in the summer for a significant but undisclosed fee, admits it may take time for him to adjust to the game in England but says life off the pitch couldn't be better.
"Football (in England) has a very fast pace but you can't let that be a problem - you just have to adapt to the way they play.
"But the players have welcomed me a lot. From as soon as I came here everyone has been really close.
"They show me love and we live as a family.
"Even the gaffer and the coaches do too so they give me a lot of inspiration - they motivate me a lot."
