Andy Wilkinson returned to full training yesterday following his hernia operation last month, much to the delight of Manager Tony Pulis.

The 23 year old defender has been on the sidelines for the past four weeks after limping off during the 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town.

But the City boss will use a cautious approach with the talented defender as he doesn't want to rush him back.

"Andy is back in training with us now, but I'm not sure if Saturday will be a bit to early for him," Tony said.

"He's had a double hernia operation and although you recover quicker at his age, we don't want to do him anymore damage by rushing him back too early."

The City boss believes Andy was showing exactly what he is capable of before injury struck him down, and hopes to see him re-discover that form when he returns to the first team fold.

"He was playing the best football I've seen him play before the injury, so we will all be looking to get him back involved with team as soon as possible," he added.

"He's a cracking lad as they all are at the club.

"We've got some good youngsters here now, there's one or two who we've sent away to get some games under their belt and now they've got to come back and try and establish themselves here."
