Two of City's first team stars are preparing themselves for a 'hair raising' stunt to raise money for the Donna Louise Trust this evening.

The big hearted pair will have their pain threshold tested to the max tonight when they go hairless in aid of the Charity organisation.

Striker Jon Parkin and goalkeeper Russell Hoult have both agreed to undergo a waxing session at the BBC Radio Stoke studio's in Hanley.

Former Hull star Parkin will have his shoulders done, while Hoult will have both his arms and legs waxed, and says if enough money is raised he may even go one step further.

"I'll do anything for charity really, especially a charity which is for children," says the former West Brom stopper.

"I had never really heard of the organisation before I came here, but now I have been down there and seen the kids for myself, I want to help and get them some money.

"It was touching to be honest when we went to visit them, they are such a worthwhile charity and that is why I am doing this.

"I haven't been waxed before and I'm sure it is going to be painful, but as long as I raise a fair bit of money I don't mind.

"If we raise enough I may even go the whole hog and have a full body wax, but not my hair of course," he laughs.

The pair are of course seeking donations, and should you wish to do so there are several ways to donate.

You can either do it online at www.justgiving.com/stokecitywax or there are donation forms available from inside the Administration reception at the Britannia Stadium.

The event will take place tonight, Thursday, February 21st from 5pm and will be aired live on BBC Radio Stoke's 'Drive Time' show.
