Disability Awareness Day
As part of Stoke City Football Club's continuing support of disability football, the club is holding a disability awareness day on tomorrow Saturday 8th March for the Coca-Cola Championship fixture between Stoke City and Burnley.
The aim of the day, organised by Stoke City's Community Programme with support from Staffordshire Football Association, is to raise the profile of football for people with disabilities in Staffordshire and recruit players for the only Centre of Excellence (disability) in the area.
Prior to the kick off tomorrow, the winners of the Staffordshire FA's special schools tournament will receive their medals at pitchside.
During half-time, there will be a demonstration on the pitch from footballers with disabilities to further highlight the opportunities available here at Stoke City and the newly-formed Ability Counts League.
Community Programme Manager Adrian Hurst, "We're really looking forward to the Disability Awareness Day as it's an excellent opportunity to showcase the work that we are doing with disabled footballers in the area."
