Kemp's Views
Assistant manager Dave Kemp gives us his thoughts as the 2007/08 season draws to an exciting close.
Over the course of a 46 game season not everything goes your way and you don't always get what you deserve. Certainly in the last two games we've played well enough to win.
If we played that game again against Crystal Palace and played exactly the same we'd win 3-0, but it wasn't to be. It's just the way it is at the moment. The bounce of the ball isn't going our way. Some of it is self inflicted, some of it is bad luck but the lads are playing well enough and we are quite capable of winning the last four games.
The attitude and the spirit are terrific and the players put out every single week so I think we've got a great chance.
The lads are fired up and ready to go. You have to accept that over a 46 game season not everything goes exactly as you want it. There's no reason to be down, these things happen in football.
I won this league with Crystal Palace and I can remember losing at home to Notts County and the same thing was said: "We'll never get up now we've lost to Notts County!" and we went on to win the league so it's not panic time. We'll just regroup and make sure we put on a good performance in the last four games, as I'm sure we will and as we have done all season.
The positive for me in the last two games is that even though we've only picked up one point, we could have and should have won both. We created the chances and the performances were good enough.
If we play that way on Saturday the tide will turn and we'll win the game.
