Tony's Plea
Tony Pulis is calling on City supporters to turn out in numbers for this Saturday's crucial Coca-Cola Championship clash against Bristol City.
The City boss insists a ferocious backing at the Britannia could be the difference as the race for the Premier League intensifies in front of the SKY TV camera's.
"I am pleading for all the supporters to get down here on Saturday," he told Stoke City World this morning.
"When there is over 20,000 people in this stadium it is absolutely rocking and it is so intimidating for other teams.
"I have said it before but the fans are so important to us. We need to create the same atmosphere as the Bristol fans did when we went there earlier this season.
"The referee responded to them and gave them decisions they probably shouldn't have got. We need that this Saturday.
"I know it's the easy option to put your feet up in front of the television at home or go down the pub with your mates, but the place where you can really make a difference is here.
"If we get 23,000 odd stokies in this stadium the place will be buzzing and that is what we need this weekend."
The 2-1 win against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena last Saturday ensured the Potters remained within touching distance of an automatic promotion spot.
However injuries to both Shola Ameobi and captain Andy Griffin dampened spirits following the game, but Pulis says he is hopeful of a bit of good news on their chances of playing a part in the run in.
"It was disappointing to lose both Andy and Shola at Coventry, but we have depth in the squad now which enabled us to replace them.
"Shola's injury isn't as serious as first thought and he will hopefully be able to play some part on Saturday.
"Andy though may be out for a little longer, but again with a little bit of luck he could be back for the Colchester game."
