Fight Isn't Over Yet - Pulis
Tony Pulis admits he is delighted following The Potters' key victory over Bristol City on Saturday but has reminded fans that the fight isn't over yet.
Mamady Sidibe scored twice as City beat the Robins 2-1 to move three points clear ahead of Hull in the promotion race and the City boss is making sure the team aren't getting carried away.
"There are still six ponts to play for," Pulis insisted to Stoke City World.
"Winning these next two games is the most important thing.
"Colchester will be difficult for us - it's their last game at Layer Road and they got their backsides slapped on Saturday.
"I know Geraint (Williams) and he'll really get them fired up.
"I just hope now that we take as many supporters as we can to Colchester and then get the result that everybody wants."
The City boss believes the victory over Coventry got the ball rolling again and thinks his side can take that form into the remaining two games.
"The big game was the Coventry game.
"The way we came back and won that game and then today to do what we've done today against a team that's right in the race, it shows very good character.
"I really fancied us - there was a buzz round the camp all week and I think the Coventry game lifted a lot of pressure off the players.
"It's been really bubbly and the lads have proved themselves again."
Pulis did his best to keep the earlier results from the players and even though they did know the gaffer made sure it didn't affect his sides' performance.
"You try to keep the results away from people, but there were too many people around chatting and you can't stop them from talking.
"I said to the players before they went out that it's about us.
"We had to get the points irrespective of what happened earlier on the afternoon as we can't keep relying on people."
The former Plymouth boss admits he was as nervous as everyone else after Bristol scored but insisted his players coped well under the pressure to hold on and claim all three points.
"It was a long last 20 minutes.
"In the first half we got the two goals, and even in the second half until they got the goal from a set play I just thought it was us who was going to score.
"We got at them right from the start and I'm very pleased."
