With just two games of the 2007/08 Coca-Cola Championship remaining promotion to the Premier League is firmly in City's own hands ahead of tomorrow afternoon's clash against Colchester United.

However, the race for promotion is not yet over with Hull City, Bristol City and Watford breathing down the necks of the Potters.

Here we bring you the views of our promotion rivals as we take a trip around the grounds for all the latest news.

West Bromwich Albion

WEST BROMWICH ALBION (1st)

Form Guide (Last six league games): WDWDWW - 14 Points

Manager: Tony Mowbray
Leading Scorer:
Kevin Phillips, 22 goals

The Baggies have 'bounced back' to the summit of the Championship recently, moving two points ahead of the Potters after last weekends 2-1 victory against Norwich at Carrow Road.

With Tony Mowbray's side not in action until next Monday, at home against Southampton, a win for City will see us move to the top of the Championship for at least 48 hours with just one game remaining.

Albion have enjoyed a fruitful last six games after picking up an impressive 14 points, following wins against Colchester, Blackpool, Wolves and Norwich as well as draws with Cardiff and Watford.

The FA Cup Semi-Finalists missed out on promotion last season after falling at the final hurdle against Derby County in the Play-Off Final, but look set to secure a spot in the top flight this time round.

Speaking ahead of their next clash against the Saints, Mowbray says: We'll be training on Saturday.

"I was planning to then go to Norwich to see QPR but the timing of that might mean somebody else going.

"I can only anticipate I'll be watching a match somewhere.

"It depends on the location but I normally watch a Saturday game if we're not playing on that particular day.

"I will just keep going and keep focused.

"I won't sit here worrying about the results.

"My job is to keep planning and preparing to make sure we can try and beat Southampton by analysing their strengths and weaknesses.

"On Saturday I will watch a game to maybe scout a player we're interested in or see a team that might be in the play-offs - all assuming I can't make it to the QPR game."

Hull City

HULL CITY (3rd)

Form Guide (Last six league games): WWWDWL - 13 Points

Manager: Phil Brown
Leading Scorer:
Fraizer Campbell, 14 goals

The Tigers have been another of the Championship surprise packages this season after a meteoric rise up the table during the second half of the season.

Phil Brown has weaved together a hardworking, talented squad who could possibly dispose of their tag of being 'the biggest city in Europe never to have played top flight football' if results go their way over the final two games.

Defeat against local rivals Sheffield United last Saturday seriously dented their automatic promotion hopes, especially after the Potters picked up maximum points against Bristol City to move three points clear.

Hull's rise up the table began following a superb 2-1 Fraizer Campbell inspired victory against West Brom in January, which has since seen them amass an impressive 37 points from just 18 games.

With a crucial fixture against Play-Off hopefuls Crystal Palace coming up this weekend, victory is surely a must if they are to remain in contention for one of the two automatic promotion spots.

Speaking ahead of the game against the Eagles, Brown insists his side will finish the season in a position they deserve to be in.

"I've said all along that we are where we deserve to be and we will finish the season where we deserve to be as well.

"I thought we needed to win our last three games, but we lost to Sheffield so we definitely need to win our last two now.

"We owe our fans a good performance now because of what happened on Saturday, and hopefully that will come against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

"I don't think its nerves," he said about slipping up against the Blades.

"Sheffield United deserve some credit because they played well, and their fans were gloating us towards the end.

"But we are the best team in Yorkshire at the moment and we are in the top six, not them."

Bristol City

BRISTOL CITY (4th)

Form Guide (Last six league games): LLWLDL - 4 Points

Manager: Gary Johnson
Leading Scorer:
Darren Byfield, 8 goals

In fourth position are Bristol City - four points behind the Potters following their 2-1 defeat at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

At the start of the season remaining in the Championship was a firm priority following their promotion from League One last season.

However former Yeovil boss Gary Johnson has exceeded all expectations and guided the Robins to an almost impossible looking task of achieving back to back promotions and ending their 28 year spell out of the top flight.

A serious dip in form over the past few months could cost them a place in the top two, but who would bet against them coming out victorious in the Play-Offs come the end of May.

Disappointment has hit the Robins fans over the past couple of weeks, but boss Johnson is reminding supporters to remember where they have come from.

"We haven't really picked up a result for a while so people are bound to look at where it is going wrong at the moment.

"The season certainly hasn't gone wrong though because we are in a great position still.

"Everyone is trying their damdest to get us up their and earlier this week we played against a team who are going very very well, being at the top of the table and unfortunately one team had to lose.

"Obviously we didn't want it to be us but it was us so we have to handle it.

"I know people get disappointed but the one thing we shouldn't forget is that we have been up there for so long and that is why people get disappointed that we may only make the Play-Offs in the Championship.

"We can have excuses and say this that and the other but we are still up there competing and we will be until the fat lady starts to sing."

Watford

WATFORD (5th)

Form Guide (Last six league games): DWWLDL - 8 Points

Manager: Adrian Boothroyd
Leading Scorer:
Darius Henderson, 12 goals

Six points and three places behind the Potters lie pre-season Championship favourites Watford.

The Hornets automatic promotion aspirations have been stung in recent weeks after picking up a mere eight points from their last six games.

Adrian Boothroyd's side took the league by storm for the first three months following relegation from the Premier League last term, and after picking up 38 points from their opening 15 games a return to the top flight looked an almost certainty.

However a seriously disappointing run of form since Christmas has seen them knocked off their perch and only a series of shock results over the next ten days will see them move back in to the top two.

Victory over already relegated Scunthorpe United on Saturday will guarantee them a Play-off spot, but to do that influential winger Jobi McAnuff admits they need to get their act together.

"It will be very tough for us to grab one of the automatic promotion spots now. It isn't impossible but we have given ourselves a massive uphill task.

"We have got to make sure that if we do have to go into the Play-Offs then we are fully prepared for them.

"We have to reflect on our disappointing performance and focus on the next few games.

"Nothing has been sorted yet, but we need to get wins in our next two games and get the momentum going again."
