Middlesborough have activated a 24-hour clause to recall Chris Riggott back to the Riverside Stadium.

Boss Gareth Southgate took up the option to take him back after Robert Huth injured himself in training leaving him as a doubt for tomorrow's clash against Portsmouth.

The defender made nine appearances for the Potters, including three at right back after Andy Griffin picked up a calf strain against Coventry City last month.

The news could mean a return for Andy Griffin, who appears to be winning his battle to be fit for the game.
