Children from the Donna Louise Trust presented a banner to some Stoke City players to wish them luck ahead of their crunch match against Leicester City on Sunday.

Carlo Nash, Danny Pugh and Leon Cort paid a visit to the Treetops Centre in Trentham lakes on Friday to see the children.

The red banner was filled with the words 'GOOD LUCK' and included the Stoke City crest.

Some of the children also showed the players around the centre and spent time with them in the games room playing table football.

One young girl had also made a card for the team with a poem inside that she and her sister had written.

All three players admitted they were touched by the experience, and were very appreciative of the efforts of the children.

City stopper Nash said: "It's a great thought from them.

"It puts life into perspective really when you come to places like this.

"For them to make the effort to do what they've done for us is just unbelievable.

"We hope we can thank them by getting a win on Sunday for them."

The players also signed autographs for the children, who said it made their day to see some of their heroes.

"It's given us an extra boost to know they are supporting us as well," said Pugh. "It was a lovely gesture from them."

"We are hoping to take the banner to the game on Saturday and put it up in the changing room to give us a bit more motivation to win it for them."

Potters defender Cort told stokecityfc.com: "It's Fantastic what the kids have done for us.

"You can't imagine what they go though and to have done this is great.

"It certainly means a lot to the players and we hope to get the win on Sunday."
