Tony Pulis is putting his summer holidays firmly on hold in a bid to lay the foundations for next season's Premier League campaign.

Speaking exclusively to Stoke City World this afternoon, he revealed his hopes for the future and said it was imperative that all of the groundwork was completed before he can even consider taking a break.

"I am desperate to keep pushing this club on, and that is not going to happen by me jetting off and sitting on the beach with a cigar and a brandy.

"We have exceeded many peoples expectations and reached the Premier League, now we mustn't take our foot off the gas.

"We want to be competitive and we know how hard it is going to be, but with a lot of hard work and dedication anything is possible.

"Now we have got there, I like everyone else doesn't want to come back down, we are a Premier League Club and we want it to stay that way."

With the goalless draw against Leicester City securing a spot within the country's elite almost two weeks ago, Pulis admits it wasn't long before agents started to call him touting a number of possible players.

"I have had calls non stop to be honest with you, but we have got to be careful," he said.

"I went to watch a lad this weekend who was highly recommended to us, and the money his club wanted was phenomenal, and after watching him he wasn't better than what we have already got.

"There are players who want to join us, but as I have said before, we need to get the right players in to this football club.

"They have got to have the same attitude, enthusiasm and love for the club as the lads who are already here have got.

"We can't afford to have players coming in who feel they are doing us a favour, if we do that we are going to fail, because when push comes to shove they will go running.

"I am desperate to establish this club in the best league in the world, and believe me that is what myself, the Chairman and everyone else at Stoke City will be desperately trying to achieve."
