Glenn's Goal
Glenn Whelan was yesterday handed his first international start for the Republic of Ireland and capped it off in superb style.
The City midfielder exquisitely volleyed home from 20-yards to give Giovanni Trapattoni's side the lead on 13 minutes against Portuguese side Lagos.
Wolves duo Darren Potter and Andy Keogh added to the scoreline, before running out comfortable 3-1 winners.
The former Sheffield Wednesday star was handed his international debut just days earlier, after replacing Liam Miller in the 75th minute during their 1-1 draw with Portimonese.
Meanwhile, Ricardo Fuller and Demar Phillips are set to link up with the Jamaican international squad ahead of five games next month.
