Dave Kemp admits the management team will be keeping a close eye on new £5,500,000 signing Dave Kitson during the club's pre-season tour of Austria.

The former Reading hit-man undertook his first training session with his new team mates this morning, and City's Assistant Boss says the week in Bad Aussee will give Tony Pulis the perfect opportunity to find out more about his character.

"We had our first training session today and I thought Dave did very well.

"He only signed on Friday so it is a great chance for us to take a look at him and see what sort of lad he is.

"He has settled in really well to be honest, and the lads have taken to him straight away.

"It's good for the team to come away. It's a very serious week and we will be working the players very hard as we continue to prepare for the new season."

This is the third consecutive year the Potters have been based in the same hotel within the Alpine mountains and Kemp says it is the perfect place to bring the team.

"I think everyone knows what Tony thinks of it here. The training facilities are excellent and so is the food.

"We are well above sea level and the temperatures are fantastic too," he added.
