City's second eleven finished their season on a high after picking up a 3-1 win away at Bradford City.

Goals from trialists Lord Kangana and Stephen Opoka were followed up by a strike from Sean Robinson as City ran riot in the second half.

The Potters started the match at a frantic pace, Jimmy Phillips proving to be an instant menace after weaving his way down the wing before firing a shot from 20-yards which flashed just wide.

The hosts soon bounced back however and could have taken the lead through Xavier Barrau but his header was easily gathered by the City keeper.

Phillips again carved open the Bantams defence and Opoka latched on to his clever ball but fired wide of the goal.

City eventually took the lead on 27 minutes when Lord Kangana curled home an exquisite free kick from 20-yards.

Bradford responded in a positive manner however and Ben Muirhead should have levelled the scoreline, but he fired into the side netting when well placed.

Dave Kemp's side could have doubled their advantage on the stroke of half time when Opoka cleverly flicked on a Phillips cross which drifted just past the post.

It was the Bantams who had the first chance of the second period.

An excellent run from Tom Penford saw him pick up the ball on the edge of the 18-yard box before bursting through on goal, but he shot tamely at Lee-Barratt.

Just minutes later Bradford striker Joe Brown went close, after attempting an ambitious chip which Barratt palmed over the bar.

City youngster Jamie Pointon then broke free but fired his shot high and wide with the goal at his mercy.

The hosts did manage to peg the Potters back in the 67th minute, when Simon Ainge powered in a head following Barrau's pin-point cross.

However the Potters hit back in devastating fashion, with two quick fire goals securing all three points.

Firstly in the 75th minute, Opoka picked the ball up before launching a shot from 25-yards which flew in to the bottom corner, then barely 60 seconds later Robinson smashed home from close range to secure the win.
