Gareth Owen and Peter Hoekstra continued their return from injury in an action-packed game against Hull City.

Both played the full 90 minutes and came through unscathed as City forced a draw despite playing the majority of the game with ten men.

Both teams started brightly as Chris Greenacre shot wide from a Brian Wilson cross, and a Hull corner was headed goalwards by Richard Hinds only to be denied by City 'keeper Chris Sanna.

The visitors who made the breakthrough after 18 minutes.  A good run and cross by Clayton Donaldson found its way to Ryan Williams, whose miscued shot found Danny Webb who headed the ball into the roof of the net.

City responded well and equalised in the 29th minute.  A long ball by Brian Wilson was chested down and volleyed low past Alan Fettis by Chris Iwelumo.

Andy Wilkinson's game came to a premature end when he was harshly penalised for a professional foul on Donaldson five minutes before the break.

Hull piled on the pressure after the restart with Danny Webb and ex-City player Steve Melton both going close before the visitors won a harsh penalty.

City were punished for pushing from a Hull corner, and Webb converted the spot-kick low to Sanna's left.

Hull twice hit the woodwork and Sanna made a string of fine saves to deny them a third goal.

City soaked up the pressure and a counter attack, led by Peter Hoekstra, brought about the equaliser.

Hoekstra ran down the left wing, fed Marc Goodfellow, who knocked it inside to Ryan Hutchinson to fire home from 20 yards.

City survived a few late scares, with Williams and Mark Joseph both going close, to earn a creditable draw.
