Preston 1 Stoke City 1
Chris Iwelumo grabbed his eighth Pontins League goal of the season as City came from behind to force a deserved draw.
The striker scored with a trademark header midway through the second-half to reward a strong Potters comeback.
Preston made the better start on a gluepot of a pitch at Bamber Bridge and Neil Cutler kept them at bay with two early saves.
But the home side went ahead after 31 minutes when Simon Lynch fired home at the second attempt.
City looked far more dangerous after the break and Chris Greenacre almost levelled with a volley which flew wide.
The equaliser finally arrived twenty minutes from time when Iwelumo rose high at the far post to nod home Brian Wilson's free-kick.
In an eventful final 15 minutes Cutler was again the saviour, tipping over a Mark Jackson effort, while Lynch missed the chance to add his second when he rounded the 'keeper and fired wide.
City were almost rewarded for a determined display in the closing minutes, but Jay Denny's effort was well saved by Chris Neal.
